Back To School? Tune Up Your Student (or Yourself) with Acupuncture!

Healthy is Happy!

Healthy is Happy!

Students — get the edge with acupuncture!

Summer’s almost over, and school is about to start — wouldn’t it be nice to know you have all the school supplies you need? (Including more energy, more focus, less stress and better sleep?)

Acupuncture can provide all of this — and if your student is also an athlete, acupuncture provides both bolstering of the immune system and relief from those aches and pains that come from all that hard work.

Acupuncture is great at relieving headaches, (even migraines) and the insomnia that all those deadlines can cause.

How does acupuncture do all of this?

Acupuncture is based on the traditional Chinese teaching that energy, or qi (pronounced “chee”), courses through the body along channels called meridians; illness occurs when that flow is disrupted. Scientists are starting to identify some of the physiological mechanisms at work, and there’s evidence that the insertion of needles into designated acupuncture points speeds the conduction of electromagnetic signals within the body. These signals increase the flow of endorphins and other pain-relieving chemicals, as well as immune system cells, which aid healing. Acupuncture effects every major system of the body, including the cardiac, gastrointestinal, circulatory, cerebral, genitourinary, endocrine and immune systems.

Treat Yourself to Acupuncture - Restore Your Balance!

Restore Your Balance with Acupuncture!

Generally speaking, acupuncture has three primary effects:

  • It relieves pain.
  • It reduces inflammation.
  • It restores homeostasis.

(Homeostasis refers to the body’s ability to regulate its environment and maintain internal balance.)

With the understanding that most diseases are characterized by pain, inflammation and disturbance of homeostasis, we begin to understand why acupuncture can be effective for so many conditions.

And be helpful for you!
