Seriously Crabby with Cabin Fever? Seasonally Affected? Acupuncture Eases Stress, Brings Relaxation

Don't Let Cabin Fever Get You Down!

Don’t Let Cabin Fever Get You Down!

Like it or not, it seems we’re actually having a real winter this year. Hibernating seems a good choice, as the temperature keeps dropping, and the roads are rather nefarious, and it’s making outside exercising and seeing actual daylight a challenge. However, it can also be bringing about a lack of energy, seasonal affective disorder, and sometimes just overall feelings of “blah” and “meh”.

Well, here’s a little sunshine for your day! Acupuncture! Tiny needles placed carefully in different places on your winter weary body will bring you relief from everyday aches and pains, and a better sense of well-being! This, plus a boosted immune system to ward against all those nasty little viruses and such that are floating around in all of our office buildings, schools, and public transportation. (Don’t dwell too much on that part…)

More happy thoughts! Acupuncture can be very helpful for those who suffer from seasonal depression as treatments can bring the body to a more balanced state. Acupuncture is used to unblock energy, and move it through channels in the body and either balance it or repel it from the body via the meridian system. This causes energy to flow freer in the channels of the body, allowing the person to feel more relaxed, balanced, and able to focus. Who couldn’t use that, this time of year?

During your acupuncture treatment, your relaxation hormones will kick in and muscle tension dissipate. Acupuncture helps to release neurotransmitters such as endorphins. They are our “feel good” hormones that invite relaxation and peacefulness during treatments. Most patients will slip into a very relaxed state, some even fall asleep. Improve your health, and get naptime too! Wouldn’t a nap be wonderful…? Many people use it as a time to gather and clear their thoughts and allow their body to return to a more natural, harmonious state. When you leave, you will feel relaxed and rejuvenated.

Acupuncture treatments help with insomnia, and eases many other stress related issues. It has the added benefit of re-uniting the body with the mind so that the flow of electricity, blood, lymph, and qi (life force) is harmonious in the body. The end result is a place of peace; a solid foundation for managing stress. The positive changes that occur as a result of an acupuncture session can last a long time, and are cumulative in effect.

There are many relevant point sites, and the choice depends on each person’s complete story of signs and symptoms. The treatment is gentle, painless, and relaxing. Lots of relief from even the first treatment! Care to find out?
