Tinnitus, or ringing in the ears, is a condition of constant buzzing or ringing in the ears. Loss of hearing may accompany this symptom. Tinnitus often results from repeated exposure to loud noise, certain medications which can damage the inner ear, specific cardiovascular conditions such as an aneurysm, or a concussion or heavy blow to the head. Tinnitus can contribute to loss of sleep, lack of concentration and anxiety. Acupuncture addresses tinnitus by restoring balance to the acupuncture channels associated with the inner ear in a safe and gentle way, without side effects. Because acupuncture helps to restore mental focus and relieve anxiety, acupuncture also helps to resolve some of the symptoms that accompany tinnitus. Acupuncture Today reports that although science still needs to validate the claims that acupuncture heals tinnitus, “there is a wealth of anecdotal evidence showing that acupuncture may indeed be an effective way of treating tinnitus.” In my 30 years of full-time practice, I have seen 30% of the serious cases clear up entirely, and the majority of the remaining patients report a marked improvement. It is my professional opinion that acupuncture effectively heals the neural channels of the ear.
My Tinnitus Is Almost All Gone
“It’s so nice to enjoy the quiet now! There is a marked difference in my tinnitus – I rarely hear the ringing/buzzing noise any more. On a scale of 1-10, I give the improvement a 9! It only took 5 visits to feel so much better. Thank you, Ingri!” — C. Maloney, Fairfield, CT
Acupuncture Has Reduced My Tinnitus
“My tinnitus started four years ago after a sinus infection. It was a constant high pitched ringing that never went away. After 5-7 treatments from Ingri, I noticed a substantial drop in the ringing. Although it has not gone away completely, I do feel that there is an 80% improvement. It has lessened almost to the point where I no longer hear it.” — Summer Paulos, Newtown, CT
