High Five Again! Acupuncture Improves Range of Motion of Frozen Shoulder

Frozen Shoulders Released with Acupuncture

Adhesive capsulitis (commonly referred to as “frozen shoulder”) is a joint disorder that affects the connective tissue in the shoulder area. Symptoms include pain, stiffness and immobility in the region. The duration of a frozen shoulder ranges from a few months to several years, and can make even the most common tasks difficult or impossible to perform.

Although there is no known cause, injury or trauma to the area is thought to be one of the triggers. It rarely affects people under 40 years old, and it is twice as common in women than it is in men.

Acupuncture releases the frozen part, the inability to raise the arm means the levator muscle can’t shorten enough. A few treatments and it is all cleared up! The point sites are local, upper back in the levator, trapezius area, some neck points. The meridians involved are the Bladder and Gallbladder tendo-muscular meridians.

I know, it is amazing, but it is so true. It is an energy thing in the meridians we treat, a blockage, that’s what we call it. A gentle, painless treatment, and often right then and there, the range of motion is improved. I smile too, when you are amazed. Just a few treatments.
