Give Yourself and Your Baby The Best Start with Acupuncture

Are you ready for the pitter-patter of tiny feet?
There is help to be had through acupuncture!

If you have been having difficulty conceiving, or you just want the best possible odds for your pregnancy, acupuncture is a safe, non-invasive and easy way to potentially increase your chances of getting and staying pregnant.

How does acupuncture do this? Acupuncture has been used for centuries to help cure fertility issues by encouraging follicle production, improving blood circulation in the uterus (which creates a more welcoming environment for the embryo), improving uterine lining thickness and egg quality, treating menstrual cycle disorders and improving overall health, which can help you more easily conceive and remain pregnant.

Acupuncture isn’t just for hopeful mothers. Dads-to-be can benefit from acupuncture, too.

One of the most beneficial ways acupuncture treatments increase fertility is by reducing stress. Stress can alter sperm counts, motility, and cause impotence.

Acupuncture helps balance the endocrine system and its hormones and to get to the root cause of both male and female infertility.

Acupuncture can also help boost your libido!

Give yourself and your baby the best possible start. Once you’re pregnant, acupuncture is still very much an ally.

Women experience discomfort in all stages of their pregnancy, whether it’s nausea, pelvic pain, hip pain, lower back pain or ligament pain.

Acupuncture is a safe, natural and effective way to improve circulation and relieve these common ailments, in addition to headache or migraine relief, and other common complaints.

Acupuncture can also help with post-term babies; it will induce labor efficiently and effectively, as well as reduce the stress, anxiety, and discomfort of an overdue baby.

Acupuncture keeps a mother’s body prepared, so that when the baby is ready, it is easy to get labor going naturally and progressing smoothly.

At the CT Acupuncture Center each person is evaluated individually. Treatment points vary based on careful consideration of a person’s history and symptoms. We understand that you are unique — that’s the key to effective acupuncture!

Acupuncture treatments are painless and gentle.

The best part? The treatment is safe, natural, effective and drug-free.

Boost Your Libido! Acupuncture Can Bring Back the Romance

Spice up your love life with acupuncture!

Spice up your love life with acupuncture!

Your sex life can be a sensitive subject to talk about. But if you can use a little help in the love department, acupuncture can help increase your libido!

Did you know that acupuncture has been used effectively for thousands of years to enhance the sex drive of both women and men?

Acupuncture improves libido by addressing the reasons why it was lost or diminished in the first place.

Stress is a major cause of loss of libido. It stagnates the energy in your body, and can also lower sperm count. Acupuncture is very helpful for decreasing stress — both physical and emotional.

Sometimes an emotional issue that has repressed a person’s energy for years can clear up within just a few acupuncture sessions.

Reactions to medications can also decrease sex drive. Research published in the Journal of Alternative Complementary Medicine found that women who struggled with sex while taking antidepressants had improved libido and lubrication after 12 consecutive weeks of acupuncture treatment. The results are especially encouraging in light of the fact that many medications used to treat depression cause sexual dysfunction in 50–90% of patients.

Better sleep with acupuncture!

Better sleep with acupuncture!

Fatigue and lack of sleep are also a large factor in a reduction in one’s sex life. Acupuncture is fantastic at improving sleep quality. It helps increase melatonin production and total sleep time.

It can help you fall asleep faster and stay asleep throughout the night. With all those extra zzz’s, your sexual desire and stamina will increase!

Lack of energy can contribute to loss of libido, too. Acupuncture naturally eliminates stressors that block energy channels and allows energy to flow smoothly — increasing blood flow to the reproductive organs.

Acupuncture is very helpful for infertility and impotency issues, too.  It is an effective and 100% natural and safe method of treatment.

If you would like to learn about how acupuncture can help improve your sex drive (and help you sleep!) visit us at www.ctacupuncture.com or call 203-259-1660 to make an appointment.

May The Odds Be In Your Favor — Acupuncture Improves Fertility

Increase Your Fertility Odds with Acupuncture!

Increase Your Fertility Odds with Acupuncture!

Ready for the pitter-patter of tiny feet? Acupuncture lends a helping hand to your pregnancy from start to finish.

If you have been having difficulty conceiving, or you just want the best possible odds for your pregnancy, acupuncture is a safe, non-invasive and easy way to potentially increase your chances of getting and staying pregnant.

How does acupuncture do this? Acupuncture has been used for centuries to help cure fertility problems by encouraging follicle production, improving blood circulation in the uterus (which creates a more welcoming environment for the embryo), improving uterine lining thickness and egg quality, treating menstrual cycle disorders and improving overall health, which can help you more easily conceive and remain pregnant.

Acupuncture isn’t just for hopeful mothers. Dads-to-be can benefit from acupuncture, too. One of the most beneficial ways acupuncture treatments increase fertility is by reducing stress. When people are under stress, the hormone cortizol is released in the brain, which alters the brain’s neurochemical balance, which changes hormone levels and disrupts the pituitary balance that is key to the reproductive cycle. Stress can alter sperm counts, motility, and cause impotence.

Acupuncture Increases Fertility

Acupuncture Increases Fertility

Acupuncture infertility treatments counter the effects of stress and cortizol, and can have a positive effect on sperm production and quality, without causing any changes in behavior or sexual desire. Acupuncture can lead to significant increases in the number of normal sperm and equally significant reductions in structural defects.

Acupuncture can be used to treat any type of fertility disorder. Acupuncture works at stimulating the hypothalamus to effectively balance the endocrine system and its hormones and to get to the root cause of both male and female infertility. Acupuncture infertility treatments also have the added bonus of producing few or no side effects.

Give yourself and your baby the best possible start. A nice flow of endorphins, stress reduction, a healthy body, balance — acupuncture is effective, relaxing, painless and gentle. Here’s to happy, healthy babies!

Cupid’s Arrow is a Good Start — Acupuncture Can Help Increase Fertility!

Acupuncture a Safe and Effective Way to Increase Fertility

Is the love nest almost complete, but missing the sound of little feet pattering about?

Acupuncture is a safe, non-invasive and easy way to potentially increase your chances of getting pregnant, and there are many who are turning to acupuncture for fertility solutions when they are having difficulty conceiving children.

In May 2006, the journal Fertility and Sterility published two studies showing significantly increased pregnancy rates for women receiving acupuncture treatments in conjunction with the embryo transfer stage of in vitro fertilization (ITF). In one study, women receiving acupuncture were more than twice as likely to become pregnant. In another, acupuncture prior to embryo transfer increased rate of pregnancy by 50 percent. It also improves the success rate for women who do not pursue ITF and conceive by traditional means.

Acupuncture helps in curing fertility problems mainly by encouraging follicle production, improving blood circulation in the uterus, which creates a more welcoming environment for the embryo, improving uterine lining thickness, improving egg quality, treating menstrual cycle disorders and improving overall health, which leads to the ability to more easily conceive and remain pregnant.

While 40 percent of infertility is caused by problems in the female, another 40 percent is caused by problems in the male. Male impotency can result from genetic factors, drug/alcohol/tobacco/steroid intake, strenuous riding (bike, horseback), or a number of diseases, including mumps and malaria, among others. The cause of the remaining 20 percent is through unknown factors.

One of the ways acupuncture infertility treatment increases fertility is by reducing stress, which is often a key factor in the fertility of both men and women. When people are under stress, the hormone cortizol is released in the brain. This alters the brain’s neurochemical balance, which changes hormone levels and disrupting the pituitary balance that is key to the reproductive cycle. In men, stress can alter sperm counts, motility, and cause impotence. A 2005 study published in Fertility and Sterility showed acupuncture can help treat male infertility by increasing the number of normal sperm and decreasing the number of defective sperm. Acupuncture infertility treatments also have the added bonus of producing few or no side effects.

Acupuncture is relaxing, painless and gentle. Less stress, a healthy body, balance – and the endorphins are certainly a bonus! The goal is to get pregnant, stay pregnant, and to have a healthy baby. Five out of five storks agree!

Why Haven’t You Tried Acupuncture? Let’s Explain the Fears Away…

Image

Curious about Acupuncture?

Acupuncture. You’re been reading about it. Some of your friends and family may have tried it. You’ve been thinking about picking up the phone…but there’s something keeping you back. Are you interested in trying acupuncture but really want some questions answered? Problem solved! Read on…

First and most pressing…Does it hurt?

Here’s the initial caveat — every person is different, and can have different reactions. The actual sensations caused by the needles vary. Some people feel a little pain as needles are inserted, but most patients feel no pain at all. The needles are tiny, just a bit larger than a cat’s whisker or human hair.

Image

Acupuncture needle, third from the top. Surprisingly small!

The depth of needle insertion varies depending on the area of the body to be treated. For example, a fleshier area of the body may require a different needling technique. Typically, needles are inserted at depths ranging from 1/8” to 1 ½”. Many people find the treatment very relaxing, and often fall asleep!  Sometimes a little soreness in the treatment area can happen but generally dissipates within 24 hours of treatment. Proper rest and hydration is also recommended.

How safe is acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a safe, all-natural, drug free therapy which yields no side effects. There is little danger of infection from the needles, which are sterile, used once and then discarded.

Here’s some of the benefits of acupuncture — less pain, better sleep, more energy, mental clarity, a stronger immune system, better digestion, less stress, less pain, and did we mention less pain?

How May Treatments Will I Need?

Acupuncture awakens your self-healing capabilities. The number of treatments varies from person to person. For some, relief will be immediate; others may take months or years to achieve results. Chronic conditions often take longer to resolve than acute ones. Plan on a minimum of a month of treatments to see significant change.

What Conditions Can Be Treated by Acupuncture? Can you help me?
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the World Health Organization (WHO) recognize acupuncture as an effective method of treatment for the following conditions:

Allergies, addiction, ankle pain, anxiety, appetite control, arthritis, asthma, Bell’s palsy, blood pressure, bronchitis, cancer, carpal tunnel, chronic fatigue, cluster headaches, colitis, common cold, constipation, dental pain, depression, diarrhea, digestive trouble, ear aches, emotional problems, eye problems, food allergies, facial palsy/tics, fatigue, fertility, fibromyalgia, fibroids, frozen shoulder, gastritis, GERD, gout, headache, heartburn, high blood pressure, hot flashes, heel pain, incontinence, indigestion, irritable bowel syndrome, jaw pain, joint pain, low back pain, Lyme disease, knee pain, menstrual problems, menopause, migraine, morning sickness, Morten’s neuroma, muscle pain, nausea, neck pain, osteoarthritis, pain, PMS, rheumatoid arthritis, reproductive problems, rhinitis, sciatica, shingles, shoulder pain, sinusitis, sleep disturbances, smoke cessation, sore throat, sports injuries, stiff neck, stress, tennis elbow, tendonitis, tooth pain, torticollis, trigeminal neuralgia, tmj, urinary tract, vomiting, weight loss, and wrist pain.

See yourself somewhere on that list? Wouldn’t it be nice to feel less stress, less pain?

Acupuncture Can Improve Male Fertility – Without Affecting Intimate Time

Here's to Fatherhood!

Male Fertility Increased with Acupuncture

It is often no easy task to be a father, and for some men, to become one. Several factors may be responsible for male infertility, including low sperm count, abnormal sperm size and shape, and reduced motility. Lifestyle, genetics, and physiological changes can also raise or lower male fertility levels, and can significantly affect a man’s ability to produce offspring.

There are a number of factors can cause low sperm count or a decrease in sperm production. The most common causes? Being a workaholic (a/k/a excess and prolonged stress), smoking, alcohol consumption to excess, very frequent sexual intercourse or masturbation, being overweight, and wearing tight undergarments or sitting down for extended periods of time. The good news is that these causes are rather easily remedied (in the grand scheme of things). Other causes may take some time to resolve, or may even require surgery.

While previous research has shown that acupuncture can improve fertility levels in women, there have been fewer studies on male infertility conducted. However, evidence suggests that acupuncture can have a positive effect on sperm production and quality, without causing any changes in behavior or sexual desire. An estimated 10% of men are infertile, and the male partner is a factor in up to 50% of infertile couples, write the researchers of a recent study showing just how effective acupuncture can be in the treatment of this condition. Acupuncture can lead to significant increases in the number of normal sperm and equally significant reductions in structural defects. In this study, researchers looked at the effects of acupuncture on the structural health of sperm in men with infertility of unknown cause.

Twenty-eight infertile men received acupuncture treatments twice a week for five weeks, 12 received no treatment at all, and served as a comparison group. Researchers analyzed sperm samples at the beginning and end of the study and found marked improvements in sperm quality in the acupuncture group in comparison to the other group. Acupuncture treatment was associated with fewer structural defects in the sperm and an increase in the number of normal sperm in ejaculate. The researchers write that acupuncture treatment is a simple, noninvasive method that can improve sperm quality.

Acupuncture infertility treatments can also increase fertility by reducing stress, which is often a key factor in the fertility of both men and women. When people are under stress, the hormone cortizol is released in the brain. This alters the brain’s neurochemical balance, which changes hormone levels and disrupts the pituitary balance that is key to the reproductive cycle.  As we mentioned before, in men, stress can alter sperm counts, motility, and cause impotence. Acupuncture infertility treatments counter the effects of stress and cortizol by releasing endorphins in the brain. Acupuncture also works at stimulating the hypothalamus to effectively balance the endocrine system and its hormones and to get to the root cause of both male and female infertility. Acupuncture infertility treatments also have the added bonus of producing few or no side effects.

Acupuncture is relaxing, painless and gentle. Less stress, a healthy body, balance, and strong swimmers – and the endorphins are certainly a bonus!
