Need Help with Back Pain? Acupuncture Brings Quick Relief

Back Pain Relief with Acupuncture!

Back Pain Relief with Acupuncture!

Looking for effective relief from back pain this Spring? Get acupuncture!

Did you overdo it while starting your garden, or working in the yard? More than 80 percent of our population will experience lower back pain at some point in their lives.

The top causes of back pain are sprains from overstretching back ligaments, and strains, (a muscle rip or tear) caused by sudden force. Sprains and strains can happen from poor posture, improper lifting or lack of proper muscle warm up prior to exercise.

In many cases back problems develop over time — from sitting incorrectly at a desk or steering wheel, or repetitive tasks, such as heavy lifting. Back pain limits range of motion and complicates daily activities, not to mention that it just hurts! There’s no need to suffer any longer.

Back problems are the number one reason why people get acupuncture treatments, and there’s good reason. Acupuncture can effectively help acute and chronic back pain and many other pain related issues naturally — without medication.

Stay limber with acupuncture!

Stay limber with acupuncture!

Acupuncture is an ancient, time-tested form of therapy that has exceptionally few side effects. With acupuncture, we look at your whole health history and tailor a treatment specifically to your needs. The root cause of the pain will be treated.

Your energy pathways will be opened up, and your body will begin to be able to heal itself, muscles will relax, reducing the pain. Many patients feel immediate improvements.

The best part? The treatment is safe, natural, effective and drug-free.

Get Spring Allergy Relief with Acupuncture!

Enjoy Spring with Acupuncture!

Spring has arrived, and so have seasonal allergies — acupuncture to the rescue!

If you suffer from allergies, you are most certainly not alone.

According to the National Center for Health Statistics, about 26 million Americans endure chronic seasonal allergies, while the number of people with milder symptoms may be as high as 40 million.

An allergy is an immune system disorder that occurs when your body has an inflammatory, hypertensive reaction to what is a normally benign substance, like pollen. Common conditions such as hay fever, eczema, hives and asthma are actually allergic reactions.

Most symptoms become apparent within 5 or 10 minutes of exposure to the allergens and typically include sneezing, dry and unproductive coughing, wheezing, itchy sensations on the roof of the mouth or at the back of the throat, swollen sinuses leading to a stuffy nose and headaches, a runny nose, itching, watery and reddened eyes, reduced sense of smell and taste, and disturbed sleep. That can certainly make it hard to concentrate and perform daily tasks, especially at work or school.

Most treatments aim to reduce the discomfort of the symptoms temporarily, and they often come with negative side effects.

Take time to relax!

  • Balanced nutrition is crucial for overcoming PMS. Up your intake of fruits, veggies, and whole grains and cut back on sugar, artificial sweeteners, fat, and salt.
  • Limit your alcohol intake, as well as caffeine throughout your cycle. Alcohol can make feelings of depression worse. Reducing caffeine may also minimize breast tenderness and irritability.

Travel Healthy with Acupuncture!

Travel Happy with Acupuncture!

Travel Happy with Acupuncture!

Wherever you’re traveling, acupuncture is a great idea before and after your trip! (And sometimes during!)

Traveling can be so much fun, and it’s always smart to have a plan to keep you healthy! Here’s a helpful travel tip — before your trip, acupuncture treatments work to boost and strengthen your immunity. Acupuncture heals imbalances in your immune system and also restores energy channels that have become disrupted.

Your immune system then functions at an optimal level and your body stays healthy, even if your seatmate is making sniffling sounds.

Another benefit of acupuncture treatments before your trip is motion sickness relief. Motion sickness is very common, especially on boats. When your brain gets conflicting signals, and your eyes sense relative stillness, but your balance and position centers sense motion, this can spell trouble on the high seas, or in the air. Acupuncture treats motion sickness, often with immediate success, preventing the nausea and vertigo. Many cruise ships have licensed, on-board practitioners that can assist you if you are heavily affected by motion sickness.

Are you a nervous traveler? Many people experience nerves before and often during travel. Acupuncture helps with that, too!

Acupuncture is a powerful treatment for relieving anxiety — it is highly effective in treating emotional problems, and it also addresses the physical, relieving the headachesupset stomach, muscle aches, insomnia, and irritability that anxiety and stress can cause.

Avoid Jet Lag and Sleep Well with Acupuncture!

Avoid Jet Lag and Sleep Well with Acupuncture!

The resulting effect from acupuncture is a feeling of relaxation, calm and an overall sense of well-being. What a great way to start a trip!

After your trip, acupuncture is also a great ally. Resetting the body clock using acupuncture can help ease jet lag symptoms. Getting a treatment can definitely help restore your equilibrium, and relieve fatigue. You’ll want to get acupuncture within 24 hours or so of landing in order for it to be most effective. This will give you an immunity boost, as well!

Acupuncture stimulates blood flow, making it especially helpful in treating the stiffness and soreness associated with jet lag and uncomfortable beds or seats. The body always feels very relaxed afterwards allowing you to have a wonderful night’s sleep.

Whether you’re traveling or curling up at home with a good book as an escape, get set to stay healthy and enjoy the season with acupuncture!

The Eyes Have It — Acupuncture for Eye Health!

Acupuncture for Healthy Eyes!

Acupuncture for Healthy Eyes!

See your way to better eye health with acupuncture!

Balance is the key to optimum health. Sometimes an imbalance within your body can manifest as an eye problem, just as the health of your eyes is often a reflection of an imbalance or health problem elsewhere in the body.

Acupuncture works to bring your body back into balance. When you are treated for an eye condition with acupuncture, any underlying imbalances that are causing your symptoms will be addressed.  The eye problems will also be treated directly by promoting circulation of Qi (life force) and blood around the eyes.

Common eye problems treated with acupuncture include:

  • Glaucoma
  • Cataracts
  • Chronic Dry Eyes
  • Macular Degeneration

For some conditions, such as macular degeneration, and other retinal diseases that have limited options for treatment within Western Medicine, acupuncture is the treatment of choice. For other diseases, such as cataracts (in the early stage) and chronic glaucoma, acupuncture can be beneficial as an additional therapy to Western treatment.

Acupuncture helps with glaucoma, dry eye, and more!

Acupuncture helps with glaucoma, dry eye, and more!

Acupuncture can help treat eye conditions such as dry eye syndrome. Dry eye is one disease that can have a considerable impact on visual function. The painful burning, blurry vision and the inability to perform simple activities like reading or driving for any length of time can be the cause of stress and frustration for patients with dry eye.

Acupuncture can help! Studies have shown acupuncture to cause a reduction in the temperature of the eye surface that helps to reduce evaporation of the tears throughout the day.

Acupuncture is also used successfully to treat glaucoma. Glaucoma is a disease of the optic nerve that is usually caused by higher than normal levels of pressure in the eye. In one study, eye pressure decreased significantly after acupuncture.

Another study showed that acupuncture successful reduced symptoms of allergic and inflammatory eye disease. Your eyes are important! Many people see positive results and benefits of acupuncture on their overall eye health. Acupuncture has proven to be a safe alternative treatment for people who have not found a remedy to their eye problems by traditional therapies.

Blow the Horns! Acupuncture Eases Sinus Pain

Breathe easy with acupuncture!

Breathe easy with acupuncture!

Suffering from sinusitus? Get sinus pain relief now with acupuncture!

Are you one of the many people that deal with sinus issues each year? Over 30 million Americans do, so you’re not alone! Sinus pain can result from sinusitis, sinus congestion or allergic reactions.

Sinuses are air pockets located in the cheekbones, between the eyes and the forehead. Small channels connect the sinuses to the nasal passages, allowing mucus to drain into the nose from the sinuses and air to flow into the sinuses from the nose. Sinusitis is a condition when the paranasal sinuses become inflamed. This can cause headaches, tightness of the facial muscles, and increased production/discharge of mucus.

Other symptoms include dizziness and the feeling of a “heavy head,” both of which are the results of congested (or blocked) sinus and other nasal passages. Sometimes nosebleeds are suffered.

Sinus congestion and sinusitis can result from a viral infection, as in the case of a cold. Sinus pain can also arise from allergies to smoke, pollen, mold, pollution or cosmetic fragrances.

sinus diagramIn addition, our homes often contain air-borne irritants, such as household cleaners, carpet or varnish pollutants and dust. Symptoms are also often aggravated by dairy products, caffeine, spicy foods, and alcohol.

Time to try acupuncture!

Acupuncture works to significantly reduce or cure sinus problems. The headache you may have will be relieved instantly! Acupuncture is helpful in giving immediate relief of the symptoms, as well as treating underlying factors. There will also be a swift improvement on the stuffiness, and usually only a few treatments are needed to be of great help.

In the case of viral infections, acupuncture helps to relieve stress and restore balance to your system so that your body can heal itself and return to full health quickly.

Don’t suffer (and sniffle) silently! Let acupuncture treat the root cause, and ease the symptoms of sinus pain!

Chronic Fatigue is Exhausting! Acupuncture Helps Put the Spring in Your Step

Feel refreshed with acupuncture!

Feel refreshed with acupuncture!

Don’t let fatigue bring life to a slow crawl! Get acupuncture!

Fatigue is a very common complaint that brings people to an acupuncturist. A few of the basic reasons for fatigue are stress, not getting enough sleep, poor dietary choices, nutritional deficiencies, being on the go all of the time, and/or too little exercise.

There’s two different kinds of fatigue. Physical fatigue is indicated by a general lethargy or listlessness, while mental fatigue is characterized by a feeling of drowsiness and an inability to pay attention. Acupuncture is extraordinarily helpful with both physical and mental fatigue, as well as chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS)  — when the tiredness and heavy feeling won’t stop, and headaches and pain are added to the mix of exhaustion.

CFS can happen over time or suddenly come about. People who get CFS over time get more and more tired over weeks or months, suddenly feel fine one day and then feel extremely tired the next. The extreme tiredness may come and go, and in some cases the extreme tiredness never goes away.

There is no reason to suffer needlessly from fatigue, and instead feel relaxed, energized and feel less painAcupuncture is very helpful in the treatment of the symptoms as well as in the underlying causes of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

Fight Fatigue with Acupuncture!

Fight Fatigue with Acupuncture!

The most noticeable benefits of acupuncture for CFS include:

  • Less pain
  • Better sleep
  • Relaxation
  • Enhanced immune system
  • Better overall health

Acupuncture helps to improve fatigue immediately, after the first treatment. Often patients remark that for even other primary concerns, fatigue was the first improvement they noticed.

Acupuncture stimulates the nervous system and cause the release of neurotransmitters. Stimulation of certain acupuncture points has been shown to affect areas of the brain that are known to reduce sensitivity to pain and stress, as well as promoting relaxation and deactivating the ‘analytical’ brain, which is responsible for insomnia. Acupuncture also increases nighttime melatonin secretions, and this means better sleep!

Less pain, better sleep, and stress relief — let acupuncture work for you!

Depressed this Holiday Season? Acupuncture for Emotional Balance

Enjoy the Season with Acupuncture!

Enjoy the Season with Acupuncture!

Don’t suffer from depression. Bring your body and emotions back into balance with acupuncture!

The holidays can be filled with a dizzying array of events, visitors, travel and endless shopping trips. For many people, it can also be a time filled with sadness and anxiety. Sometimes it seems too difficult to sit back, relax and enjoy the beauty of the season — stress of any kind can build up, and physical manifestations can take place.

Tension and stress affect different people in different ways. For some, it manifests as emotional tension. Energy can stagnate in the chest area, and heart palpitations and nervousness can occur, as well as feelings of anxiety or feeling distant emotionally.

In other people, the build up and stagnation of energy can cause muscle tension, pain, spasm and headaches. If the tension isn’t relieved, and is allowed to become chronic, it can lead to habitual anger, migraines and high blood pressure, among other symptoms.

Stress, anxiety and depression can cause a disruption in the flow of vital energy, or Qi, through the body. These energetic imbalances can throw off the immune system or cause symptoms of pain, sleep disturbances, abnormal digestion, headaches, and menstrual irregularities, and, over time, more serious illnesses can develop.

Acupuncture treatments can directly affect the way your body manages stress and your mental and physical health. Acupuncture can be very helpful for those who suffer from depression as treatments can bring the body to a more balanced state.

Get a great night's sleep with acupuncture!

Get a great night’s sleep with acupuncture!

Acupuncture is used to unblock energy, and move it through channels in the body and either balance it or repel it from the body via the meridian system. This causes energy to flow freer in the channels of the body, allowing the person to feel more relaxed, balanced, and able to focus.

Acupuncture treatments often have the quality of sleep and deep relaxation. In fact, many patients report falling asleep during the session, and enjoy a good night’s sleep following treatment.

Acupuncture is a fantastic way to release built up stress, and head off tension before it starts to cause trouble.

Enjoy the holiday season with acupuncture!
