Get Safe, Gentle Insomnia Relief with Acupuncture

Do you want safe and effective help with your sleep issues? Try acupuncture!

As many insomnia sufferers know, a lack of sleep means more than a sluggish start the next morning. According to the National Sleep Foundation, it can contribute to problems ranging from weight gain to heart ailments.

In many cases, the consequences of a sleepless night can cause problems in relationships, too — both personal and professional. Acupuncture can help you get a good night’s sleep so you can rise and shine feeling refreshed, and ready to face the day.

Acupuncture has been used for centuries to successfully treat a wide variety of ailments and concerns including sleep disturbances. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) theory dictates that the body’s energy, or qi, circulates through twelve meridians, which are linked to internal organs and emotions. The heart meridian, for instance, relates to anxiety, the liver meridian to stress and anger, the spleen meridian to worry.

Too much of any of these emotions can influence the energy of our emotional body, and affect our sleeping patterns. If our body’s qi is blocked, it can keep us from falling asleep, prevent REM sleep, and cause us to wake up easily.

Acupuncture can free up energetic blocks, and lead to ideal movement and function throughout the body — essential to a good night’s sleep.

Acupuncture works by approaching the mind and body holistically to address internal imbalance, encouraging the flow of natural energy, and releasing physical and mental tension.

It also relaxes muscle tension, enhances circulation, and promotes better sleep!

Acupuncture is helpful for treating all sleep problems. The therapy boosts your mood and immune system. It is also effective for the treatment of stress, anxiety, depression, panic attacks, and chronic fatigue.

The best part? Acupuncture is safe, natural, effective and drug-free.

Feeling Anxious This Fall? Acupuncture Balances Emotions

Acupuncture Brings Balance to Anxiety Sufferers

Acupuncture Brings Balance to Anxiety Sufferers

The change of season is beautiful, but when anxiety gets overwhelming, acupuncture is a great autumn friend!

Anxiety is a very common issue. In the United States, anxiety disorders affect about 40 million adults — women twice more than men.

Some stress is normal in life. But when the levels get too high, anxiety can cause such distress that it interferes with someone’s ability to lead a normal life. Distress can disturb the body’s internal balance, leading to physical symptoms such as headaches, an upset stomach, elevated blood pressure, chest pain, sexual dysfunction, and difficulty sleeping. Emotional problems can also result from distress.

There is no reason to suffer from anxiety any longer.

Acupuncture is a powerful treatment for relieving anxiety. It is highly effective in treating emotional problems, and it also addresses the physical realm, relieving the headaches, upset stomach, muscle aches, insomnia, and irritability that anxiety and stress can cause.

Treatment for anxiety varies from person to person, as there is no “one size fits all” type of treatment, as different people have different personalities, different needs, and of course, different symptoms. There are many ways of dealing with anxiety, but acupuncture is an extraordinarily helpful tool. Acupuncture often gives an immediate improvement on the symptoms present, as well as a deeper improvement on the underlying causes.

Acupuncture works well with diet corrections, supplementation, as well as necessary medications.

It is important to make sure that your body is getting adequate Vitamin D, as our bodies aren’t getting as much sun as we have in the previous summer months, and as a result we aren’t producing as much Vitamin D.

Vitamin D is also important for immunity, bone health and heart health, and it helps protect against cancer. Vitamin D supplements may improve seasonal anxiety and depression that worsen during the winter months.

Magnesium is also very helpful — it’s a calming mineral that nourishes the nervous system. Magnesium is also very protective of the heart and arteries; again, this is important if you suffer from anxiety or panic attacks.

Meditation and exercise are also important additions to a healthy approach. It is also important to stay hydrated.

Let acupuncture bring you back into balance, and to enjoy this beautiful season!

Insomnia is nothing anyone dreams about. When it happens regularly, it can affect your health, your relationships, your job, and the list goes on.

Whether it’s due to a hectic schedule and the wheels in the brain that won’t stop turning, diet issues, an emotional crisis, or other issues, restless nights can be a drag. Acupuncture to the rescue!

Acupuncture is helpful for treating all sleep problems. Acupuncture is often thought of for the treatment of stress, anxiety, depression, panic attacks, and chronic fatigue. At the initial consultation, we gather information to get a complete picture of what is causing the disturbed sleep. Also important to factor in is the age of the patient; treatment for children with sleep disorders will be different from that for adults who have the same symptoms.

The therapy boosts your mood and immune system. It relaxes muscle tension, enhances circulation, and promotes better sleep!

Acupuncture provides fast relief to break the cycle of bad sleep, and rebuild your quality of life. Acupuncture combined with lifestyle changes can make a big difference. Most people experience improvement quickly, with few treatments.  The best part? No side effects in the morning aside from feeling energized and well-rested.

Give acupuncture a try!

Anxious to Get Rid of Anxiety? Acupuncture to the Rescue!

Anxiety getting out of control? Let acupuncture bring you back into balance!

Anxiety is a completely normal human emotion. Many people feel nervous or anxious when faced with problems at work, before taking an exam, or making a difficult life decision. It’s a perfectly normal reaction to stress.

Anxiety disorders, however, are different. They can cause such distress that it interferes with someone’s ability to lead a normal life. And distress can disturb the body’s internal balance or equilibrium, leading to physical symptoms such as headaches, an upset stomach, elevated blood pressure, chest pain, sexual dysfunction, and problems sleeping. Emotional problems can also result from distress.

Generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) occurs when someone feels worried and stressed about what could be seen as average, everyday events and activities. Often the things are small or unimportant. This type of worry can become disruptive, and affect daily life. Everyone gets worried or anxious sometimes. But people with generalized anxiety disorder experience more than normal everyday worries, and often have physical symptoms such as headaches, body aches or fatigue, among others.

The cause of generalized anxiety disorder is not known. Some studies show that it might be passed genetically, and hyperthyroidism has been shown to cause generalized anxiety symptoms.

Besides GAD, many people often suffer from panic disorder, or panic attacks. People with this condition have feelings of terror that strike suddenly and repeatedly without warning. Other symptoms of a panic attack include sweating, chest pain, palpitations (unusually strong or irregular heartbeats), and a feeling of choking, which may make the person feel like they are having a heart attack or are losing their sanity.

Also within the anxiety spectrum is social anxiety disorder, or social phobia. Social anxiety disorder brings feelings of overwhelming worry and self-consciousness about normal, everyday social situations. The worry often focuses on a fear of being judged negatively by others, or behaving in a way that might cause embarrassment or lead to ridicule. This can keep people from going out, meeting new people, moving ahead in their careers or towards their goals as they might wish.

There is no reason to suffer from anxiety alone any longer. Acupuncture is a powerful treatment for relieving anxiety — it is highly effective in treating emotional problems, and it also addresses the physical realm, relieving the headaches, upset stomach, muscle aches, insomnia, and irritability that anxiety and stress can cause.

Acupuncture treatments are based on treating your mental, emotional and physical symptoms. The resulting effect from acupuncture treatment is a feeling of relaxation, calm and an overall sense of well-being.

Don’t Panic (at the Disco or Anywhere Else)! Acupuncture Helps with Panic Attacks!

peaceful lady

Acupuncture Helps with Panic Attacks

Panic attacks can be terrifying to deal with. The symptoms of a panic attack can include a rapidly pounding heart, paralyzing anxiety, dizziness, shortness of breath, chest tightness, shaking, sweating, and hot flashes.

There are many theories as to why we suffer from panic attacks. Not all panic attacks are caused by anxiety (and vice versa). Some of the usual suspects are hereditary causes, illness, stress, a major life transition, and medications (especially those that increase activity in the brain related to fear reactions).  There is help! Unlike most medications, acupuncture addresses the root cause so the anxiety can cease.

Acupuncture is a wonderful treatment for panic attacks and anxiety. Acupuncture has been dated back as far as 5000 BC. in ancient China and it is one of the most tried and tested therapies in the world, and is one of the oldest forms of holistic treatment, too.

Acupuncture offers a number of strategies to help relieve your panic attacks. Treatment for anxiety in general varies from person to person, as there is no “one size fits all” type of treatment — different people have different personalities, different needs, and of course, different symptoms.  The first line of defense in treating your panic attacks, is to calm your mind, relieve your anxiety, and minimize your stress. Acupuncture is very successful strategy for your panic attacks, and research has documented the positive effects acupuncture has on brain chemistry. This effect accounts for the relaxing and calming sensation patients feel both during and after their treatments.

Acupuncture also addresses your panic attacks by nourishing, restoring, and balancing, and helping the body to handle stress and adapt to change. Stress is very common, it is part of our struggle to deal with situations where we want or don’t want certain things to happen.  We can feel sadness when change happens, and fear as well when the new changes arrive. Change is a guaranteed thing, so it seems some stress is also. Acupuncture works not only for panic attacks, but also for stress, anxiety, depression and chronic fatigue.

Acupuncture works well with diet corrections, supplementation, as well as necessary medications. Meditation and exercise are often important additions to a healthy approach.  Also…be sure not to get dehydrated. Breathing exercises are also very helpful. Brisk walking or another form of exercise is very beneficial to those suffering from anxiety. Many people find yoga, tai qi or qiqong to be very helpful, as they are excellent forms of mind-body exercise that can improve the ability to control both anxiety and depression. Practicing these arts in conjunction with regular acupuncture treatments help provide the foundation for positive change.

Acupuncture treatments are gentle, painless, and relaxing. Lots of relief from even the first treatment!

~Stress~ Acupuncture Brings Relief!

Stress Relief From Acupuncture!

Stress Relief From Acupuncture!

Stress is a blanket term for a number of factors that describe the brain’s response to events (typically unpleasant ones), which the patient feels he or she has only limited control over.

Stress can manifest itself in a virtually unlimited number of ways, including headaches, muscle spasms, depression, insomnia, hypertension, and inappropriate social behavior, among many others. Like other conditions, treatment depends on multiple factors, both physical and emotional, but in most cases getting adequate sleep, maintaining a proper diet, and exercise are recommended.

Acupuncture is often thought of for the treatment of stress, anxiety, depression, panic attacks, and chronic fatigue. Stress is very common, it is part of our struggle to deal with situations where we want or don’t want certain things to happen….We can feel sadness when change happens, and fear as well when the new changes arrive. Change is a guaranteed thing, so it seems some stress is also. Lots of wisdom, and compassion, and patience will certainly be on MY list, and of course I do recommend acupuncture. The point sites will probably include some neck and upper back points. Maybe Li 3 on the foot, perhaps St 36 by the knee. There are many relevant point sites, and our choice will depend on your complete story of signs and symptoms. The treatment is gentle, painless, and relaxing.

Lots of relief from even the first treatment!
